Letter to Verizon

Dear Verizon,

After speaking with someone in your ethics department, please reference case number VER-10-08-005

I was asked to mail this photo into you with regard to the above mentioned case number.

Manhunt.net is a M4M Social Networking and pornographic site. These ads have been seen throughout NYC, mainly in the Chelsea area along 8th avenue. This site and others like it are contributing to the increase in HIV infections. Drug use and unsafe sex practices run rampant on these sites.

Is this advertising being allowed by the City of NY or Verizon? This is not responsible advertising, and I believe uncharacteristic of the good work you do throughout our communities. These ads are in Public View as Children and other Young Adults walk by these ads are posted on your phone booths, with your Verizon slogan.

Does Verizon really stand by such a site, and promote such advertising? These ads, I believe, undermine Verizon’s integrity.

I appreciate your attention to this matter, and I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

A concerned member of the GLBT community
